Whether you’re getting a jump on holiday shopping, updating your closet to be a little more sustainable or simply looking to replace some kitchen essentials, here are a few of our favorite sustainable and ethical brands.
Christy Dawn
Recently launching a regenerative cotton line in their Farm-to-Closet collection, Christy Dawn creates ethical women’s clothing that is easy to wear and long-lasting. Pushing against the fast fashion landscape, their pieces are well made from thoughtfully sourced materials.
Stasher Bags
It’s time to stop buying single-use storage bags. Stasher bags are made of silicone and are great for storing kids snacks, work lunches, fresh garden produce, a few random bolts from that piece of IKEA furniture you assembled or whatever else you store in plastic bags. They’re infinitely reusable but also have a recycling program just in case.
Light+Paper
We’ll throw in one holiday gift and décor recommendation here. Ali at Light + Paper uses laser cut birch to create beautiful custom art, ornaments and décor. We’re snagging an advent calendar ASAP.
Depop
A marketplace for gently used clothing, Depop is a favorite of vintage sellers everywhere. Depop tends to have fewer new clothing resellers than marketplaces like Poshmark and Mercari, and leans a little funkier.
Askov Finlayson
A little love for a local favorite, Askov Finlayson has created the first carbon positive winter parka. They also carry locally printed t-shirst and sweatshirts.
Paper Culture
Whether you’re creating wedding invitations or sending holiday cards, Paper Culture is your best bet for eco-conscious stationery. Like similar services, they have a range of design options and virtual designers you can consult with, *but* all their stationery is made from 100% recycled materials and they plant a tree for every order.
